Devil’s Peak
Devil's Peak (4 or 6 hours, round trip)
Devil’s Peak is known for its panoramic views and its wind! Something to do with the Van Hunks legend. I would personally recommend this route for a Sunrise or Full Moon hike. We can start from Newlands Ravine (6hrs) of from Tafelberg Road in town (4hrs). The former offers you best of both worlds!
Quirky facts
Devil's Peak (1001m) was originally known as Windberg (not without reason!). Later is received its current name, which is the English translation from the Dutch 19th-century name, Duiwels Kop.
Smoking with the Devil
In the 1700s there was a Dutch man called Jan van Hunks who was forced to leave the house by his wife whenever he wanted to smoke his pipe. One day, he met a mysterious stranger (the devil) who also smoked. They ended up in a pipe-smoking contest, which Van Hunks won, but not before the smoke that they had made had covered the mountain, forming the famous table cloth.

The price for this hike is R1300 from Tafelberg Road or R1600 pp when we start from Newlands.

Very Important Information
Please note that the weather in Cape Town can change fast (she was called Cape of Storms for a reason). Please ensure you wear comfortable breathable clothes and walking shoes with a good grip (flip-flops, heels, and fashion sandals are not allowed).
